Electric Power Equipment Inspection and Management
¡¾System Overview¡¿

Electric power equipment inspection is a fundamental work which ensures safety and the performance/reliability of the equipment. Currently, these inspections are carried out manually i.e. monitoring paper work remarks etc., which result in many disadvantages such as high management costs, inconvenience to monitor staff and transmit data.

A great number of methods have been used to optimize these workflows, improve the work quality and further ensure staff¡¯s safety, including bar code scanning, IC card reading, information buttons and more. This has been a one-million dollar question for professionals and experts in this industry.

The releases of handheld data terminals have immensely solved many critical problems in this matter, which includes advantages as below:
1. Greatly lower purchasing and maintenance costs on systems because there¡¯s no need to install any extra equipment/devices into the electric power inspection equipment.
2. Ensures inspection quality and improves electric power equipment reliability.
3. Adopts WLAN and RFID technologies, realizing hi-tech information management in electric power equipment inspection works.

The inspection systems along with electric power data collection terminals have the following functions: routing, data recording, work status monitoring, data collection reporting and so on. They can also be seamlessly connected with current information systems so as to effectively monitor inspection work status and detect malfunctions of equipment promptly.

¡¾Targets¡¿

Below are the targets go accomplish in this industry: £º
1) To realize real-time and hi-tech management in electric power equipment inspection and improve work efficiency.
2) To transmit real-time inspected and RFID data to management departments via GPRS network.
3) To detect errors and malfunctions generated in the equipment via data collecting and analyzing.
4) To manage staff and assign works more effectively.
5) To provide efficient and optimized methods for equipment inspection and management.

¡¾System Structure¡¿

Inspectors send a text message to the center every 2 minutes (intervals can be adjusted, manually or automatically) using handheld data terminals. Important information such as location of inspectors, time, malfunction type, device model number can be sent to monitoring center promptly.

The monitoring center receives reports and saves accordingly. The system reads the information, distills the time and location malfunction occurs as well as device type and founder and publishes them on the Internet simultaneously.

Monitoring terminals display real-time inspection status by software in RFID systems, including malfunction spots, various emergencies, handling status, current status and staff location and inspection routes at certain times.

The system is also able to carry out statistics, summarize and analysis on for historical data, as well as to display malfunction frequencies and objects at certain times using various charts. This helps management staff to better analyze various situations and implement effective solutions to ensure smooth production.
