Challenges
- Carrefour stocked 80000 to 100000 different varieties of items in its stock and these were managed manually. So, there were more chances of human errors.
- Due to heavy workload in inventory management, the Company deployed a large workforce to manage warehouses manually.
- Management had limited access to the inventory information for analysis and available data was unreliable and outdated that could not be used for maintaining optimal stocks in stores.
- Inefficient inventory management also impacted the marketing planning. Marketing activities depend upon the product demand and its sale patterns, but this data was not available to the top management promptly.
