FOOD/ITEM TRACEABILITY | ASIA | UHF RFID UHF Solution for Rainforest Tree in Philippines

Background

The Philippines has a well-preserved Asian rainforest ecosystem with a forest coverage rate of 53% and valuable wood such as ebony and sandalwood. How to finely manage these precious forests has been plaguing relevant departments.

Solution

With the application of the Internet of Things, mobile Internet, big data, smart earth and other technologies, each precious tree is embedded with RFID UHF tags for electronic ID card.
Forestry maintenance personnel are equipped with UHF handheld terminals, in order to establish forest resource monitoring and management system, which improves monitoring efficiency and meets the needs of forestry decision-making and ecological construction of forest resources. The system integrates technologies such as remote sensing image processing, remote sensing information extraction, statistical analysis of results and information database management, and provides functions such as remote sensing data processing, forest management classification and interpretation, pests and fires, information extraction and information database management.

Effects

1. The application of RFID electronic ID cards reduces or even eliminates illegal activities such as illegal logging, over-exploitation, over-excavation, smuggling and reselling.
2. It makes full use of radio frequency identification and other technologies to establish a complete forest electronic label system. Meanwhile, it combines with a specially designed electronic ticket, transport certificate, harvesting certificate, collection certificate, quarantine certificate, etc., to manage the production, transportation, storage and sales of wood, wild animal and plant products, which greatly improves law enforcement supervision and public service.
