Background

With the development of the national economy and the increasingly close communication between localities, the expressway has become an important transportation hub. In recent years, more and more vehicles transported with personnel and materials run on the expressway, including heavy-duty vehicles. As a result, there will be higher requirements and challenges for inspections and maintenance. The inspection of highways is of great significance for the timely detection of safety hazards to ensure the safety of highways. To this end, expressway management departments decided to use Chainway P80 multi-functional industrial tablet to assist the maintenance and inspection of the expressway.
 

Challenges
 
  • There are higher requirements for highway asset maintenance, inspection and emergency command and dispatch.
  • Manual road inspection and maintenance methods are easy to bury road safety risks.
  • Due to the lack of an effective personnel supervision mechanism, it affects the establishment of fair personnel assessment and incentive mechanisms.
  • With low systemic interaction and poor information sharing of business, the command and dispatch system is less automated. It fails to realize scientific management in many aspects such as early warning and disposal.
  • The command and dispatching efficiency is not high enough to meet the demand for emergency handlings like bad weather and special road conditions.

Solution
 

In response to the needs of users, Chainway P80 industrial tablet is deployed to manage highway road maintenance and inspection. The on-site staff can conduct real-time information exchange with P80 industrial tablet and dispatch center during the daily management or law enforcement process, such as obtaining any instructions, real-time uploading of work progress, real-time viewing of the location of the disposal site and sharing of the location, etc. The control center also obtains relevant information such as the location of the field personnel in real time, promoting the efficient and high-quality work of the work. On-site personnel can also scan the operation certificate, qualification certificate, license plate and other documents to obtain information or perform authentication with P80. The generated information in various disposal processes will be completely recorded and uploaded to the back-end system for data analysis in the future. When an emergency occurs, the system can quickly organize a team composed of dispatching personnel and field personnel of the command center. It can realize flexible transfer authority between the on-site portable PAD dispatching station or the command center dispatching station, in order to achieve unified command and dispatch of emergency events. And it also supports access to various video sources including video surveillance, video conferencing, drone backhaul images, individual equipment or voice terminals such as Tianyi cluster intercom, fixed telephone, mobile phone, etc.
