Challenges
1. The manual inspection methods are time-consuming and error-prone, resulting in low efficiency.
2. The entire cycle time from the receiving of inspection tasks to the completion and reporting is too long.
3. The management personnel cannot effectively supervise the inspection work and confirm whether the inspection personnel is in place.
4. The maintenance personnel, foreman and quality inspector cannot cooperate closely. When a problem occurs in a certain link, it cannot be solved promptly.
5. Managers will not be promptly informed of the status of inspection work, thus, they cannot make a reasonable maintenance plan.
Solution
Beijing Metro introduced Chainway C72 handheld computer based on two-dimensional code technology for intelligent patrol inspection. The inspection personnel receive new tasks with C72 in real time, and scan the barcode at the inspection points, then write the real-time inspection records by the device . If needed, inspection staff will also take photos or videos with the intelligent terminal, then perform the real-time reporting of inspection information through the network , which greatly improves the efficiency and accuracy of railway inspections .
Effects
1. It effectively standardizes the workflow of the railway inspection, reduces the workload of patrol inspection, and increases the ratio of arriving appointed places during patrol inspection.
