COFCO ( China Oil and Foodstuffs Corporation ) is a leading supplier of agri-products with grain, oil, sugar and cotton. Its production base and cooperative farms have reached a cooperation with Chainway to achieve the intelligent and efficient management of feed and vaccines in farms.
Challenges
1. It requires precise and strict control of livestock feeding in every link. The traditional feed and vaccine management methods are operated manually and resulting in greater uncontrollability.
2. Traditional management methods rely on visual recognition during the cycle-counting and searching, which is inefficient and error-prone.
3. There is no smooth access to quick production & circulation tracking, and flows of feed vaccine. Once problems occur, it is difficult to claim responsibility.
4. It performs manual recording on the usage status of the feed and vaccine, which is not only inefficient but also causes random filling.
Solution
COFCO chose to configure a barcode-integrated information solution based on the application of the Chainway C66 industrial-grade intelligent handheld computer. A unique two-dimensional barcode is attached to the feed and vaccine, which comes with the relevant information like production, manufacturer, expiration date. Workers only need to scan the QR code with a handheld computer to quickly obtain all relevant information of the item and perform the corresponding operation. Meanwhile, the data can also be updated to the backend system in real-time through the wireless network, which allows managers to check the detailed information and perform further management.
