Stock Management with RFID Solution

Background
There are always challenges that come up when running a manufacturing unit. Lacoste, which is a known brand manufacturers variety of cloths outfits for all segments such as male, female and children. Started from turkey, Lacoste has reached to 144 countries across the globe. But the company has also faced a range of problems in stores. Thus, the company implemented a UHF RFID solution to get the best possible result in cloth identification, processing, and inventory management.

Challenges
1. Physical stocktaking of products in a store is highly difficult and error-prone due to frequent inventory changes.
2. Lacoste offers clothing for different segments and occupies big retail stores. Thus, searching for a specific product in the store is quite difficult with a manual process which may result in poor customer satisfaction.
3. Data related to store inventory and sales are not available in real-time which make it difficult for management to adjust the flow of products accordingly.
4. Unavailability of products at the store creates a bad impression on customers. Sometimes store achieves fewer sales due to understock of bestselling products.

Solution
The company realized the need for an RFID solution for automatic inventory management. However, choosing the best equipment was like picking a needle in a haystack. Finally, after demo and testing, Lacoste selected Chainway’s C76 UHF RFID mobile computer for intelligent inventory management. Now, with the help of this mobile computer, floor staff in a store can scan products in bulk which automatically capture the product information. Staff can perform multiple operations with this device such as stock maintenance, stock-taking, dispatch, and stock updating, etc. Moreover, all the information is available in real-time. Management has access to data of all the stores in real-time.

Effects
1 The company achieves high customer satisfaction with the better shopping experience as store staff invests more time in customer entertainment rather than in stock management.
2. Real-time data availability helps the management to make the decision on the timely purchase of goods to avoid out of stock situation.
3. Historic data of sales at the store level help the store manager to adjust the products as per customer buying behavior. It helps in evaluating the product demand in peak season so those fast selling products always available in the stores.
4. Better services and timely availability of goods enhance the brand image.
