Parts Management for A Car Enterprise in Germany

Background
 
In response to the Industry 4.0 theory proposed by the German government in the past two years, A car enterprise seeks to find new technologies and devices to achieve full automation of the plant. To this end, the company and Chainway reached cooperation that deploys Chainway C72 UHF handheld terminal to manage the auto parts in each production line warehouse of the factory.
 

Challenges
 
  • Due to a large number of production lines and the wide variety of auto parts in each production line warehouse, manual management measure is time-consuming, labor-intensive and error-prone.
  • Staff can not quickly and accurately find the shelf position of a certain spare part.
  • Manual inventory measure is not only inefficient but also has a high error rate, and makes the record on account book inconsistent with the actual spare parts data.
  • Lack of tracking mechanism, managers are unable to effectively manage and assess the work of warehouse staff. It is difficult to find lost or stolen materials.
  • The status of spare parts material in the warehouse cannot be updated in time. As a result, the manager has no access to grasping the consumption situation of the daily production line in a timely and accurate manner. And replenishment for the missing materials can not be made timely, which affects the smooth operation of the production line.
 
Solution
 
Chainway empowers the car enterprise with C72 UHF smart handheld terminal, so as to realize the intelligent management of parts in each production line warehouse. The warehouse manager can paste the unique identifiable RFID electronic label for each component as the information ID of each material. When the material enters and exits the warehouse, it does not need to be manually registered. C72 can be used to scan the parts label and automatically record data of input-output, then generates statistical reports for information like responsible persons. All collected data can be transmitted to the database system through the network.

  • The error rate of manual collection is greatly reduced, and the efficiency of the input and output of operation is improved.
  • It realizes the full traceability of parts. When the parts are illegally taken out of the warehouse, it can automatically alarm to reduce the loss of materials.
