Barcode Solution to Enhance Customer Satisfaction

STO Express is the oldest and trusted delivery services in China. The company has a countrywide network of regional offices and pickup locations. With the development of the Country, the demand for improvement in the traditional delivery method has also experienced. To give pace with growing need, STO applied auto tracking system to improve its existing delivery system.
 
Challenges
  • Management was facing the biggest challenge of time consumption and high error rate. All the eateries were first recorded manually via fixed PC and then updated in the main database. It required lots of time with a high risk of errors.
  • In the case of parcel damage or lost, the existing system could not find out the responsible person.
  • Workers were facing operational inefficiency because every delivery required handwritten delivery proof. Workers had to put extra effort to scan and upload the information on the database.
 
Solution 
STO management consulted with Chainway Information Technology Company for implementing the auto tracking solution. After evaluating the requirements. Chainway suggested its C6000 mobile computer integrated with a 1D barcode scanner. The device was connected with a wireless connection so the delivery person could update the delivered parcel information from the field itself. The backend server automatically updates the information collected from the field personnel in the database.

Effects
  • Real-time update of consignment offered the customer to monitor its consignment online.
  • The new system defines the accountability of each person at every step of delivery. In case of any incident, the problem can be identified easily.
  • STO has achieved its goal of fastest delivery of parcels with operational efficiency.
