Solar Panel Management with RFID Technology

Background

Most of the countries including India have made it compulsory for all the solar panel manufacturing companies to attach an RFID tag with PV module or solar panel. The guideline is applicable to export and import as well. Every exporter or importer must label their solar panels With RFID tags. The purpose of this task is to improve the tracking system of solar panels.

CHALLENGES
  1. Solar panels are look-alike and it is difficult to identify a solar panel from a specific vendor because many government companies and organizations deploy solar panel from different vendors and manufacturer.
  2. Solar panel producer cannot get the real-time data of performance and maintenance of every solar panel already deployed at the customer site.
  3. The manual method of recording data is time-consuming and subject to errors.

SOLUTION

Many Solar panel manufacturer in China and India have a good corporate relation with Chainway. Chainway already supplies a number of the RFID reader to these companies which helps them to read RFID tags attached with the solar panels. Every solar panel has a unique RFID tag A worker equipped with Chainway's handheld RFID reader can capture the panel data by reading the tags with this device. The data captured with the RFID reader can Be transmitted via 3G or WiFi network to the central database in a real-time.
China wants to update its tracking system in order to be more competitive.

EFFECTS

  1. The RFID system has enhanced the data security because solar panels details are stored in an RFID tag which can be read by an authorized RFID reader.
  2. The data ensuring has saved lots of time significant. The number of panels can be scanned and recorder within seconds. The system ensures a quick scanning with high accuracy.
  3. The company management has access to real-time data of solar panels already installed at the client site. Now they know in advance when a solar panel needs to be repaired or replaced.
