On-Road Parking Solution to Release Parking Solution

Background
Looking for parking space while driving the car in the middle of a traffic jam is very difficult. But there is an option. Now the driver can search a nearby open parking space without any difficulties and worries while driving a vehicle. China is the first country to implement this intelligent system for on-road parking since 2017. Many people in China are now experiencing this comfortable system very efficiently.
 
Challenges
A number of cars are increasing every year. There are more than 600 million cars running on the road globally. Many parking apps are available in the market but when it shows full parking then its driver has to commute through public transport. Including China, many emerging countries required proper space for parking but the land is limited. This problem can be solved by the best possible use of available parking space.
 
Solution
 A driver and parking collection-based app are designed for drivers. This on-street parking app is connected via a 4G network and HF RFID technology. Chainway’s mobile computer is integrated with this app to identify the driver and parking space availability.
 
Application

Before Parking
After opening the app, the driver has to fill out his personal information such as name, contact number, vehicle number, etc. The apps help in identifying real-time parking space availability and booking.
 
During Parking
Once a driver selects and reaches the parking space. An operator with mobile computer captures the image of the vehicle number plate and associate the respective vehicle with parking space. The driver then receives the parking receipt with printed information such as location, timing, and parking rates.
 
After Parking
At the time when the driver comes back, the collector updates the status of parking in the app via mobile computer hence the fee is collected automatically once driver taps his public transport cards on Chainway mobile computer. This is how the on-street parking system work.
 
Effects
  1. The system has made the parking process easy in big cities of China and makes the driving stress free because parking space can be search out via the app.
  2. The manual process of calculating a parking fee is transformed into an automatic fee collection. The driver can easily identify the parking rates.
  3. Local government can use the app data to make the right decision on traffic management, parking management to best utilized the local resources.
