Time & Attendance solution for Employees

Background
A flower and gifting company was using a manual process of employee performance evaluation. Every year there is an increase in pay scale and number of employees but the current employee performance evaluation system does not fit into this situation.
 
Challenges
1. The manual procedure of clock-in and out is time-consuming and highly inefficient.
2. Due to a large number of employees, physical checking of each employee takes lots of time and chances of error is very high. Thus, the chances of employee fraud could be high.
3. An employee in the field could not be considered under clock-in and out procedure. 

Solution
The company implemented a PDA base database solution where each employee information is stored in a master database of the company. This information includes photos, name, designation, fingerprint and other personal and professional information of employees. Employees carry their cards which can be scan with the help of a PDA along with their fingerprints. Once data is captured by the PDA, the information is updated in the master database of the company. The handheld PDA is connected with the master database via a wireless connection.
 
Effects
1. Employees identification with fingerprint scanning has significantly reduced employee frauds.
2. The mobile computer is very effective for the move-in and out process for field employees.
3. All the records are available in real-time so any query required on data can be produced by the management at any time.
