Ticket Inspection Solution with RFID Mobile Computer

Background
Ticket management solution for any sporting event is dead useful. However, spectators in golf event are comparatively less than other sports event but when it comes to sponsoring a golf tournament then it becomes a different story altogether. Sometime before HSBC, Hong Kong sponsored a golf tournament and implemented Chainway’s C4000 mobile computer to manage the ticket inspection process. With the use of RFID base solution, HSBC not only increases the ticket inspection efficiency but also eliminate the chances of counterfeited tickets.

Challenges 
1 Manual inspection method which was using earlier subject to easy manipulation and counterfeited. It was difficult to physically identify them.
2. Manual process required more workers. Thus, it involves high cost, time consuming and inefficiencies.
3. Real-time ticket inspection data is not available with the management. So, spectators management cannot be effectively managed.

Solution
HSBC identified Chainway’s C4000 as the best mobile computer to implement in the ticket inspection process. The solution used RFID wristbands which replaced the paper ticket. These wrist bands were issued to spectators and can be easily verified with the help of mobile computers. Once a ticket was verified, the reader could not read the same ticket again and display it as an invalid ticket. Additionally, the tickets inspection data collected via mobile computer could be stored in the database in real-time.

Effects
1. Spectators’ entry in golf event has significantly improved with the fast ticket inspection process that resulted in a better experience for spectators.
2. Real-time inspection data facilitate online ticket verification. With the integration of mobile computers and wireless network, any ticket information can be received. It helps in stop verifying repetitive ticket and identify a fake ticket.
