Inventory Management Solution for an FMCG Company

Background
Coca-Cola which is known as a number one brand in soft drink in the world has a large warehouse facility in Tangier and Morocco. Year on year, with the growth in production, it became difficult to manage the large quantities with traditional warehousing methods. Therefore, the Coca-Cola corporation decided to implement a warehousing management solution to improve operational efficiency and ensure the timely delivery of goods to develop customer satisfaction.

Challenges
1. Being an FMCG product, daily in-out flow of material is quite high. Handling this process manually is very difficult and bring more issues like human errors, high labour cost, manipulation and late delivery of products.
2. The management could not obtain the information timely because data is not stored in real-time. Thus, affect the decision-making capability of management in respect of availability and overstocking of goods in warehouses.
3. Performance evaluation of worker is not possible in the absence of proper individual employee’s data.

Solution
After consultation and performance analysis, Coca Cola selected Chainway’s C71 mobile computer for its barcode solution. Configured with 2D barcode scanners, C71 mobile computer helps to realized automatic identification of inflow and outflow material in warehouses. Besides this, information about all the scanned products is stored in real-time via a wireless network. It helps the management to timely ensure the availability of products in the warehouse.

1. The company manages to save a lot of time & money by automatically identify the products in warehouses.
2. Warehouse efficiency has improved significantly. Now workers can capture the products information without any manual feed. It has brought 100% accuracy with fast data processing.
3. Updated data is available with management all the time because captured data can be saved directly in the main database without any delay.
4. With the increase in worker efficiency, management has also optimized the warehouse space and ability to manage conditions like overstock and understock.
