Staff Management Solution with IRIS Technology

Background
Safety and security are the top priority for a power plant. North China power plant is one of the largest power plants. However, in spite of large-scale operation, the staff is limited. In order to run the operation smoothly and also ensure the safety and security of workers, plant management deployed an IRIS technology base solution to supervise the workers.

Challenges
1. However, verification technology like fingerprint and ID cards are still being used on a large scale but there is a high risk of manipulation and forgery with this technology.
2. Proper supervision and accountability of workers could not be effectively implemented in a manual operation.
3. Manual attendance data could be easily manipulated and there is no option of availability of real-time data.
4. Management does not have a real-time update of the under-repair equipment. When equipment is being repaired by the maintenance team. The staff has to submit the report after complete the repair work which is time-consuming.

Solution
To manage the time attendance and ensure the high operational efficiency, the plant management deployed C70 mobile computer in the plant which was based on IRIS function. This technology is identified as the most advanced and reliable technology among all biometric identification solutions. Chainway C70 IRIS mobile computers were integrated with management’s attendance solution. The attendance data captured by the mobile computer could be updated in real-time.

1. The new system ensures the high-level safety and security of staff in the operation.
2. The mobile computer is capable to capture and share the real-time data of on-site work, which helps the management to make quick decisions in order to increase operational efficiency.
