Worker Identity Verification for A Logistics Company

Background
A logistics company based in South Africa relies on manual work to complete its shopping process. As the order delivery and daily volume increased, the company realized a requirement for a more accurate process to handle staff and deliver items to the right customer within a time frame.
 
Challenges 
1. Manual process could not be assigned an individual employee to do specific work that creates a gap for error to happen.
2. There is no process to evaluate employee performance for employee development and motivation.
3. Wrong deliveries often take place in a manual process that increases the number of unsatisfied customers and finally affects the company image in the market.
 
Solution
Staff verification was the primary concern for the company. Thus, company management deployed Chainway C71 mobile computer with a fingerprint on various work stations. In the last mile delivery process, when the delivery boy delivers the item to the customer, He has to verify his fingerprint on the device. Besides, the receiver of the item also needs to scan his finger on the C71 device as proof of delivery. The delivery data captured by the mobile computer is transmitted and shared in cloud data via a wireless network.
 
Effects 
1. With the fingerprint verification, any unapproved staff member could not do the wrong deliveries. The new system, ensure the smooth delivery of goods.
2. All the verification and identification process is done via a mobile computer. It saves lots of time invested in the registration process.
3. Due to the variability of the employee's workplace, the fingerprint verification of couriers is not limited to a certain location, because couriers do not work at a fixed place.
4. All the date can be transmitted to the management background in real-time, which provides the basis for employee evaluation.
