Challenges
1 Person verification technology such as IC Cards and fingerprints are not full proof. Due to which, the risk of manipulation is high.
2 Safety of manpower is very important in a power plant but it is difficult to supervise the safety standards in a manual process.
3 Manual process of maintaining records of staff attendance is not effective. There are more chances for errors and manipulation.
4 Daily work report is submitted by the employees at the end of the day. In case of maintenance record of under repair equipment. The updated information cannot be obtained timely, which affects the maintenance process.
 
Solution
To facilitate an effective staff management solution, the power plant deployed C70 mobile computers at every workstation. The devices are configured with smart IRIS and biometric identification technology. The workers at a remote location can not only mark their presence but also share the work progress in real-time. C70 mobile computer transmits the captured data with the central server via a wireless network.
 
Effects
1 Staff operation is now more visible and smoother with a new solution.
2 Management overall control and capabilities have significantly boosted by the new solution. Now, on-site data can be shared in real-time. It allows the management to take corrective action in time to maintain the proper flow of the production process.
3 It strengthened the smart management of on-site staff, to improve the production management level of the substation.
