Asset Management for A Russian Bank

Background
A Russian bank with several bank outlets needs to transfer cash among cash vaults every day. To ensure the safe transfer of cash and proper recording of data, it was necessary to deploy a barcode technology on cash vaults. Thus, bank management deploys a barcode technology integrated with Chainway barcode mobile reader. These scanners are not only capable of powerful barcode scanning but also provide more data storage space. Chainway’s mobile computer fulfills the requirement of convoy management. Now bank management can track the location of cash boxes and the person in charge.
 
Challenges
1 Manual method has the disadvantage of unclear process. There is an unclear handover of cash boxes and the shift of the person in charge.
2 A large number of cash boxes transfer every day in manual process. It reduces operational efficiency and increases the chances of mistakes.
3 Manual process always lacks proper communication between departments. It makes the overall cash transfer process less effective.
4 Managers in banks unable to perform data analysis related to an increase or decrease in cash flow, bank efficiency, and employee performance analysis.
 
Solution
Bank management deployed barcode base technology for the cashbox monitoring process. In the solution, each cashbox was assigned with a barcode label that includes all the information of the individual cash box. When the operator with a mobile computer scans the cashboxes at the time of entry and exit of the location, the scan data is transmitted to the central server for a real-time update. The solution automatically updates the status of all the boxes.

1 The cashbox transfer process is simplified and also save a lot of money invested in labor.
2 The barcode solution significantly improves the security of cash boxes and boost the management efficiency to transfer more cashboxes every day.
3 The administrator can quickly get the information of the transfer data on the background system for better data analysis.
4 With the availability of all the data in real-time. Now, management can develop management strategies and perform data analysis for better use of resources.
