UHF-based Solution for A Local Designer Brand in China

Background
This case is about a local designer brand that started operation in Hangzhou. Later spread direct sales to other big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, etc. To further increase the business, the company has deployed hundreds of dealers across China. Today, the company has more than 500 stores in different cities and sales services in other countries like Japan, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, etc. A big network like this requires fast and accurate operation management to offer good quality services to the customers. Thus, the company cooperated with Chainway management for a UHF based RFID reader.
 
Challenges
  1. The manual process of goods identification bound the customers to wait for a long time. It creates dissatisfaction among the customers.
  2. The manual method of stock management also requires more staff and costs to maintain daily inventory requirements.
  3. Counter sales data is not available in real-time. It is difficult for management to arrange the high demand items in stores timely.
  4. The data sharing among the chain stores is a tough task that affects the timely adjustment of product inventory and related sales strategies.
Solution
To strengthen the inventory management for a local designer brand, Chainway offered its C76 Mobile Computer for usage in many data collection links. The device helps in realizing an intelligent data capturing process with the RFID technology. An RFID tag attached with a batch of items contains every detail of goods that can be scan by a C76 mobile computer. This process makes the labour force more strength to maintain the inventory and immediate supply of apparel to retail stores. 
 
Effects
  1. Now, a particular item can be located via a mobile computer at the store level. It helps in reducing the waiting time for customers.
  2. Earlier, a stock-taking process took several hours, but now a single staff member can perform the stock-taking within few minutes. Besides this, the new system also enhances the accuracy and efficiency of management.
  3. Top management can access the real-time sales data of all the stores. It helps the company management to analyses data and takes sales-related decisions quickly.
  4. It reduces the labor cost of supply chain management and increases the efficiency of enterprises.
