Weighing Project for a Cement Company

Background
With the continuous expansion in the mining industry, an overall increase in production capacity, employees, vehicles, and raw material has been observed. These changes have also brought many challenges in managing employees, weighting management, vehicle management, and plant operation management, etc. Therefore, many companies in the mining industry have already implemented the latest technology like RFID technology in the weighting process to accelerate operation, a smooth process, and offer customer satisfaction.

Challenges
1 Management faces many issues concerning the weight management of raw material entered in the factory. The manual process case lots of error in goods weighting.
2 The chances of manipulation and counterfeiting cases increase in manual records of data. Other than that, this process is time-consuming and inefficient as well.
3 Usually, it takes a long time for a vehicle to enter the plant because operation staff manually check all the raw material and documents. As a result, It develops a long queue at the gate.
4 Manual registration data can be a mismatch. There are chances of wrong data entry when vehicle data is assigned with weighing data of another vehicle.

Solution
To resolve the above mention issues, Chainway successfully deployed its C70 mobile computer in a mining plant. The devices are integrated with RFID capabilities that include a unique RFID card for each vehicle. This card contains all the necessary details requires at the time of the entry of a concerned vehicle.  An operator with a mobile computer can obtain and auto record the vehicle entry by scanning this card. Besides this, plant staff can also store all the information related to access, weighting, unloading, storage, etc. in this card. The scanned data is recorded in real-time in a central database with the help of a wireless network.

Effects
1 The new system facilitates high operational efficiency with auto-generation of all the information of the incoming and outgoing vehicle.
2 It accurately collects and records the desire work information of each process to standardize the operational process.
3 The chances of manipulation and fraud have dropped significantly because the operator collects all the data through a mobile computer that ensures precision and efficiency.
4 Mobile computer captures the data wirelessly and uploaded to the back-end system, which improves operational efficiency, reduces errors, and reduce economic losses.
