Safety Traceability in Animal Food

Background

Animal food traceability is most significant when it comes to public health. Traceability has become increasingly important. The government has evolved into a tangled web as companies seek to enhance their capabilities to feed the growing population. The government is intended to assist the food manufacturing companies to understand and implement the RFID technology for tracking & tracing of the food items through out the food chain. This technology has improved food safety and avoids the devastating impacts of low quality food on public health and the nation's economy.

Challenges
  1. There is a higher risk of contamination or spoilage due to long, complex supply chains. With the diverse social division of labor such as production, distribution, and consumption, fraudulent activities in the food chain and counterfeit products increase subsequently.
  1. The existing process of food's treatability does not allow any person to access the information of product safety, product circulation, and credit information of operators. People can only discern the quality of goods by sight and touch, and it is difficult to distinguish between counterfeit products.

Solution

With the help of the Chainway C72 RFID reader, the companies management implemented an automatic traceability solution that can trace and track the meat & vegetable items. This solution also records the process of farming, processing, circulation, consumption, and monitoring. It comprehensively utilizes database technology, network technology, distributed computing, and other technologies to set up a city-level center platform for meat safety and traceability. The Management personnel can use the C72 device to scan the RFID tag or barcode label pasted on each product. The device automatically obtains the item information of each link in real-time to execute the product traceability process. It allows automated non-contact detection of the source and complete information visibility of the entire process chain.

Effects

1. It fully realizes the intelligent management of meat and vegetable food circulation information, which ensures the accuracy and timeliness of data.
2. Online verification of quarantine via wireless information transmission has significantly improved the efficiency of supervision.
3. Managers can monitor the flow of meat and vegetables at any time and adjust the market inventory configuration in time.
4. It further strengthens food safety control, promotes the importance of food safety, and makes consumers more assured when buying meat food.
