Background
 
The People's Bank of China is the central bank of the People's Republic of China responsible for carrying out monetary policy and regulation of financial institutions in mainland China. With the development of the banking business and increase in ATM investment, cash processing plays a crucial role. The traditional manual control method has been unable to meet the needs for efficient management. As a result, new technology is required to achieve centralized management, cash monitoring process, efficiency & accuracy of the complete management process. 
 
Challenges
 
1. The cash processing of all links mainly relies on manual operation, which is inefficient and error-prone. And it is tough to gather the manual collection data.
2. It cannot monitor the task execution status in time and the handover process. Thus, random personnel shifts and unclear handover of personnel may occur.
3. It cannot realize timely real-time position tracking of the cash processing. When a problem occurs, it is hard to deal with in time.
4. Information between departments cannot be exchanged in time, resulting in low efficiency of collaboration.
5. The management team unable to collect and analyze the data of the business operation. This operation includes the process such as the cycle of adding cash, the quantity & frequency of cash, business volume, business efficiency, and business errors that affect the planning of management strategies for managers. 
 
Solution
 
The People's Bank of China deployed an RFID information solution based on Chainway C4050-Q4 handheld computer. It automates data collection in each operation link such as receiving, inspection, vault inventory input-output, transfer, and cycle-counting. The solution also ensures that the enterprise can accurately capture the vault inventory data in real-time and effectively maintain the stock level. By using scientific coding, management can significantly improve the working efficiency of vault management.
