With the constant development of information technology, an e-commerce company in Vietnam decided to introduce Chainway C6000 and C72 handheld computers in its warehouses. These devices come with barcode scanners that help the company staff to manage warehouses, improve the efficiency of warehouse operation, enhance brand image, and attract more customers to purchase the products.
 
Challenges
 
1. Manual cycle-counting requires office clericals to enter all warehouse activity documents that are labor-intensive and time-consuming.
2. It comes with illegible or misinterpreted handwriting and data entry errors.
3. There is no real-time data that allows managers to be more proactive, resulting in shortage and overstock of goods.
4. Operator can not track every item during its movement through various processes and locations.
 
Solution
 
Chainway equipped the Vietnamese e-commerce company with barcode scanning technology for warehouse management. In this system, the company staff tags a unique two-dimensional barcode as an identification mark. During the process of input and output of the warehouse, cycle-counting, sorting, the company staff can scan the barcode on the goods through the C6000 / C72 handheld terminal to perform fast and accurate information collection and comparison, which significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of the warehouse processes.
