Clothing Store Stocktaking for Givenchy

Background

Givenchy is a French luxury brand founded in 1952. It has many stores, diverse clothing categories, and loyal brand lovers. With the continuous development of information technology, Givenchy deployed RFID readers in stores for in-store cycle-counting. It helps in further improving the efficiency of the store operation.

Challenges

1. With a large number of items in the store, the manual method of goods identification is heavy-loaded and prone to errors.
2. Store staff needs to perform manual cycle-counting every day, while this method requires a lot of labor and time costs.
3. Counter sales data cannot be counted timely and reported with accuracy. Thus, it is tough to ensure a sufficient supply of goods.
4. The headquarters cannot obtain the sales data of each chain store quickly. It affects managers for inventory allocation adjustment.

Solution

Givenchy chose to configure an RFID-based inventory solution based on Chainway C4050-Q4 UHF reader. To quickly perform a bulk reading, store staff only needs to read the products within a specific range with a C4050-Q4 handheld computer, thus efficiently complete in-store cycle-counting. In the previous process, the tasks took hours to finish. Now, it can be easily finished in a few minutes. The system can upload the inventory data to the database simultaneously. It ensures the consistency of the database system with the actual product data. Thus, it realizes the high visibility of the store’s inventory.

Effects

1. It enables intelligent bulk reading, enhances store efficiency in inventory management, and brings a high level of flexibility to workers.
2. Intelligent stock-taking reduces the workload of product inventory. Thus, it allows store workers to invest more time and energy to serve customers, which further improves customer satisfaction.
3. It achieves accurate in-store inventory data, which largely optimizes store management and timely adjust the stock level of inventory.
4. The real-time data allows store managers to know sales and inventory data at a glance. Based on this information, they can adjust marketing plans in time to attract more consumers.
