Inventory Management for Online Vehicle Trading Platforms

Background
 
Guazi Direct Sales Network is currently the largest direct sales platform for used vehicles in China. Maodou Network is a one-stop new retail service platform for a new vehicle. These stores are driven by online data, technology, and in-depth services of brick-and-mortar stores. Besides, there are two independent brands of Chehaoduo Group. Thus, to optimize management & employee working efficiency, these platforms decided to configure Chainway C72 handheld RFID Reader for intelligent management of garage vehicles.
 
Challenges
 
1. Manual registration and verification of vehicle information from the input to the output of the warehouse take a long time and prone to errors.
2. Due to lots of vehicles in the garage, it is immensely inconvenient when searching for a particular vehicle.
3. The vehicles' data of each garage cannot be updated to the database in real-time. Thus, the manager cannot know the inventory status of each branch, which harms adjustment of management strategy according to the actual situation in time.
 
Solution
 
Management assigns a unique RFID tag with an identification ID for each vehicle. The relevant information such as the name, model, and in-store time of each vehicle is stored in the corresponding ID No. linked to the database. The worker can scan the RFID tags within a particular range with the C72 UHF handheld terminal to enter, query, and verify vehicle information for intelligent management. At the same time, captured data is uploaded to the background database.
 
Effects
 
1. Workers only need to scan the electronic tag with the C72 UHF handheld terminal during the input and output of the warehouse and enter the relevant information of the vehicle to complete the corresponding operation, which is more efficient.
2. When management performs the vehicle's stock-taking, the inventory personnel take the C72 RFID reader for patrol in the garage. The inventory efficiency is significantly improved.
3. All the inventory information of each branch is updated to the back-end system in real-time through the wireless network. The manager can check the inventory information of each garage to adjust the strategy in time according to the market conditions.
