Background
Founded in 1959, Carrefour is the pioneer of the hypermarket, the largest retailer in Europe and the second largest international retail chain in the world. Now it has more than 11,000 operating retail units and its business covers 30 countries and regions around the world. Chainway contributes to the cooperation with Carrefour in Morocco, and successfully configured C6000 smart handheld terminal to intelligently manage warehousing, in order to improve the efficiency of inventory, and realize the visual management of warehouses.
 

Challenges
  • Carrefour retail warehouses stock with a wide variety of goods, ranging from 80,000 to 100,000. It is error-prone based on such heavy workload during manual operation.
  • The heavy-loaded inventory in warehouses and storefronts will require a lot of manpower and time.
  • Warehousing staff has no intelligent access to the inventory information for analysis and it is difficult to ensure optimal inventory levels in the warehouse.
  • The headquarters cannot obtain the sales data of each chain store in a timely manner, which impacts the rapid adjustment of inventory configuration and related strategies according to the market.

Solution
Based on the needs of the Carrefour retail store in Morocco, Chainway is integrated with barcode technology, wifi, IoT technology to improve working efficiency in stores, further optimize the whole processes and boost the brand image.
 

Effects
  • It significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of inventory. It took several hours for the staff of the retail stores to check the goods on the shelves before, but now it takes only 30 minutes to complete.
