Electric Power Tracking with UHF Sled Reader

Background
With the continuous development of the power industry in Shaanxi province, under the pattern of traditional substation inspecting management, original operating style that relying on handwritten notes consciousness substation inspection work will carry out a series of drawbacks during the process and there would be various problems such as inspection inadequacy, missing inspection, and wrong inspections which will affect normal supply of electricity, people's lives and production even lead to safety hazards and huge losses to the company. To this end, Shaanxi Electric Power Company is seeking new technical solutions to improve the quality of power asset inspection work, and ensure power equipment will be always in normal operation.
 
Challenges 
1. For the daily inspection work management, it is impossible to ensure that the inspection duty personnel could arrive at the scene and operate according to the predetermined standards, the personnel can fill in the recorded loopholes at will.
2. The information that recorded in form is limited in capacity and cannot fully record the status of devices.
3. There is lack of on-site inquiries for inspection details and operating specifications for each substation equipment.
4. The information that recoded in form is not easy for statistical inquiry, the feedback of repair work cannot be handled on time and it is not easy to manage staff schedules for overhaul plan, which may result in substation equipment in a failed state for long time and cause losses.
5. It is inconvenient for managers to intuitively and timely manage the inspection work of substation equipment.
 
Solution
Depends on the problems that mentioned above and with combination of customer requirements, Chainway has designed R6 UHF Sled reader and with the combination of electricity inspection application of ZTE mobile phones to help power companies to easily realize intelligent inspection and management of power assets. By R6 and ZTE mobile phones to scan different RFID tags which have deployed on different electrical equipment to locate navigation, identification and information collection for different substation equipment and information through wireless communication technology. The real-time transmission could seamlessly connect the field operation terminal with the production management system of the enterprise to realize the seamless integration of equipment information data, and greatly improves the work efficiency and work quality of the patrol personnel.

1. Realize the features such as electronic informatization and intelligent inspection of substation equipment, and minimize missed inspection and misdetection.
2. Ensure that inspection personnel to form a closed loop for work plan, execution, and completion confirmation, which can effectively ensure the inspection quality of the inspection personnel and improve the safety and reliability of the power equipment to eliminate potential safety hazards.
3. Labor and time costs have been saved, while improving work efficiency, the company's operating efficiency has increased significantly.
4. It helps managers to obtain equipment information in a fast way and timely work out maintenance service plans to minimize the incidence of failures.
