Staff Management for A Power Plant with Iris Technology

Background

Due to the large-scale power plant and the scattered work, staff management is extremely limited. In order to ensure smooth operation of the power plant, supervise the operation safety and qualification of power plant personnel, North China Power Plant decided to introduce iris technology to manage staff in the power plant.

Challenges

  • Traditional personnel verification methods like IC cards and fingerprints have risks of forgery, which brings inconvenience to personnel management.
  • The operation safety of the power plant is very important, but there are no effective measures to supervise the post operators, causing certain safety hazards.
  • It has no access to making record of the work of the staff, which affects the attendance management of the staff.
  • After the work is completed, the staff should return to the office for work report. Especially when the equipment is under overhaul, the maintenance information cannot be obtained in time, which impacts the maintenance progress of the equipment.

Solution

C70 smart handheld terminal is deployed to the power plant for personnel management, based on the application of iris recognition technology. With the intelligent biometric identification system, it provides users with the most advanced and reliable iris recognition solution for staff management, which can accurately identify the power plant staff,  so as to standardize the operation procedures.

Effects

  • It streamlines the operation of staff to ensure their safety and allows visibility of operation in power plant.
  • The on-site work data can be transmitted by the intelligent terminal in real time, which allows the quick response to the production site and boosts the overall control capability.
  • It strengthened smart management of on-site staff, so as to improve production management level of the substation.
