Mobile Healthcare Management at a Hospital in China

Background
 
The hospital is a national second-class tertiary traditional Chinese medicine hospital in China. To optimize nursing processes, improve nursing efficiency, and enhance patient satisfaction, the hospital has fully deployed a mobile nursing system based on the Chainway C90 mobile nursing PDA, upgrading its nursing information construction to a new level.
 
Challenges
 
  1. In the traditional medical and nursing process, medical and nursing staff need to view patient information through printed paper medical records, which is cumbersome.
  2. During the execution of medical orders, manual judgment and comparison of drugs with patient information are required, which is prone to errors and may cause medical accidents.
  3. When entering patient vital signs information, it is necessary to record patient information through oral dictation and pen, and then enter it on the computer at the nursing station, with a large workload, high error rate, and long time consumption.
  4. Many pieces of information are recorded and saved on paper, which is inconvenient for querying and not conducive to environmental protection.
 
Solution
 
To solve the above problems, the hospital has fully configured a mobile nursing information system based on the Chainway C90 mobile computers pplication to achieve comprehensive informatization of nursing work. This small C90 mobile device almost includes all nursing functions. It can accurately identify patient identities, query and summarize information, record nursing processes, real-time collect vital signs, process medical orders, and query drugs. This solution is a new generation of wireless network technology carrier, relying on the electronic medical record system, through the application of C90 mobile terminals and APP, integrates medical and nursing affairs into a mobile handheld terminal, forming a real-time and dynamic operational platform, enabling nurses to process various medical order information in real-time at the patient's bedside, greatly reducing the workload of nurses, optimizing nursing processes, and allowing nurses to have more sufficient time to provide better quality nursing services to patients.
