Chainway Launches C5E UHF RFID Reader with an Upgraded Platform and Enhanced RFID Performance

Chainway has launched the upgraded C5E UHF RFID Reader, featuring Android 16, a Qualcomm octa-core platform, and enhanced RFID performance. With a read range of up to 33m and read rates of up to 1,300tags/s, the C5E is designed for efficient bulk inventory, inventory management, and item finding across retail, warehousing and logistics, manufacturing, and asset management.
 

The device also combines multi-sensor item finding, a 7000mAh hot-swappable battery, and rugged protection to support long hours of demanding RFID operations.
 
Android 16 for Long-Term Deployment
 
The C5E runs Android 16, supports long-term maintenance and updates, providing a modern platform with improved security and compatibility for enterprise applications.
 
For organizations deploying mobile devices over extended periods, an up-to-date operating system can better support application updates, ongoing maintenance, and evolving business requirements throughout the device lifecycle.
 
Qualcomm Octa-Core Platform for Greater Flexibility
 
The C5E adds a Qualcomm octa-core 2.0GHz platform, together with ultra-fast UFS storage and multiple memory and storage configurations of up to 8GB + 256GB storage.
 
The expanded configuration options help support multitasking, data processing, and local storage requirements while giving businesses greater flexibility to select the right configuration for different applications and workloads.
 
Up to 33m Read Range and 1,300Tags/s Read Rate
 
Featuring an Impinj E Family reader IC with Impinj Gen2X support, the C5E delivers a read range of up to 33m and read rates of up to 1,300tags/s.
 
In applications such as warehouse inventory and high-rack item reading, extended read range can reduce the need for operators to repeatedly move closer to tagged items. High-speed reading also enables faster capture of large tag populations during bulk inventory tasks, helping improve operational efficiency.
 
Multi-Sensor Fusion for More Precise Item Finding
 
Beyond fast and long-range RFID reading, the C5E also supports more precise item finding.
 
The device integrates a gyroscope, accelerometer, and magnetometer, which work with management software to support precise item finding. This helps operators identify and locate specific tagged items more efficiently within large inventories.
 
The capability is particularly useful for warehouse item searches, retail product locating, and asset management applications where users need to find individual items rather than simply perform bulk inventory counts.
 
7000mAh Battery with Hot-Swapping Support
 
For operations that require extended device uptime, the C5E features a 7000mAh removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and hot-swapping support.
 
Operators can replace the battery without shutting down the device or exiting active applications, helping reduce interruptions during long inventory sessions, logistics operations, and manufacturing workflows.
 
6-Inch Display with Rugged Protection
 
The C5E features a 6-inch HD display with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3, providing a larger viewing area together with added screen protection for everyday enterprise use.
 
With IP65-rated dust and water protection and 1.5m drop resistance (MIL-STD-810H), the device is designed to withstand frequent use in warehouses, logistics facilities, manufacturing environments, and other demanding workplaces.
