Chainway Empowers Digital Shelf Label Management for SES

Background

SES is the world's leading provider of smart digital labels and pricing automation. Currently, 150 million digital labels are applied to 12,000 stores worldwide of 100 retail brands in more than 50 countries. SES retail solution consists of digital shelf labels, smart displays and smart terminals. In order to further optimize the information management of digital shelf labels, and improve work efficiency and accuracy, SES decided to introduce NFC technology and select Chainway NFC-based handheld computer C72 to read and write, verify, modify the information of digital shelf labels.
 
Challenge
 
At present, in order to attract customers and stimulate consumption, retail stores and supermarkets often carry out a series of discounts, promotions and other promotional activities. As a result, price label information is modified frequently. When it comes to traditional price labels, they need to be reprinted and then manually pasted or installed on the shelves. Thus, the process is cumbersome and error-prone.
 
Solution
 
Digital shelf label displays are placed on the shelves to replace the traditional paper price labels. Each digital shelf label is connected to the back-end database of the mall through a network, and the commodity price set on system will be displayed through the digital shelf label accordingly. The worker can verify and modify the information of digital shelf labels through Chainway C72, instead of performing manual replacement and reprinting of the price labels. It not only improves the efficiency and accuracy of the price label modification, but also ensures the price consistency between the cashier system and the shelf labels.
